About

Step into the ruins of London's Roman Amphitheatre, in which crowds would once have gathered to watch wild animal fights, public executions and gladiatorial combats. Lost for centuries, the original circular walls were rediscovered by archaeologists working on the site of the new Guildhall Art Gallery building in 1988. Lockers are provided during opening hours for a refundable £1 deposit (maximum dimensions: 32 x 53 x 42cm). The cloakroom is unattended other than during special events, but is freely available for visitors to store personal items. The City of London Corporation takes no responsibility for any items left. Refreshments are not available from the Gallery, but there are many cafes and restaurants nearby.
