About
Gold, banknotes and over 300 years of history. Discover the story of the Bank of England, its buildings, and the people who have shaped it over more than 300 years. We're completely free to visit! The Museum offers a unique selection of displays and exhibits, covering the institution's role in maintaining monetary and financial stability through to our banknote gallery and gold vaults. You can visit our temporary exhibition 'Building the Bank', covering the architectural story of the Bank's iconic Threadneedle Street site. Plus, visit our website to learn about our exciting programme of events on our 'What's On' page. We host free Museum Lates on every third Thursday of the month, and run a free lunchtime talk series.
